Here's an account of Jack's big day as a Cardiff City mascot.
Jack had to be at reception at 10.30 am where he was met by Joel Hutton (Community Foundation Team). After a briefing in the foundation office Jack went into the home dressing room top meet all the first team players. He had his photograph in the matchday program (and a mention of Ystrad Mynach Primary School) which was then signed by everyone. He also had the opportunity to have his photo taken with every player. After the dressing room, he then had an ‘appointment’ with the manager, Malky Mackay, in his office where he met all the backroom and coaching staff.
Jack then came out onto the pitch with Bartley Bluebird before having a kick about on the pitch with the other mascot and a child from Malaysia (dressed in traditional Malay costume).
Just before kickoff he had to go back into the dressing room to walk out onto the pitch with the players. As Jacks’ favourite player is Kevin McNaughton he chose to hold his hand instead of the captain Mark Hudson. Jack then lined up for the official pre match photos with both teams and the match officials before walking along the line of Leicester City players shaking hands.
The game was televised live on Sky Sports so as you can imagine we were watching about 5 seconds of footage all evening on Sunday so Jack could see himself on TV.

Welcome back to an exciting term. We look forward to many news items being updated to the website and to it being a benefit to pupils, parents, staff and Goverrnors.
Congratulations to Eleanor in 4D who won second prize in a Caerphilly photographic competition. She competed against both children and adults (including some with professional cameras) so we are very proud of her. Have a look at a couple of the shots that she entered!
Sports day is cancelled for Nursery, Reception/Yr1 RB and Reception JJ. It will not take place on Thurs 7th or Friday 8th due to poor weather forecasts.
Children from Year 5 were selected to attend a 2012 Olympic Games event in Cardiff. Children had the opporunity to learn new sports and meet Matt Elias an olympic medalist and up and coming athletes of the future. Ystrad Mynach Primary represented Iceland.
