Mrs. Davies’ Year 5- an exciting learning adventure
One of the beauties of teaching is that there is no limit to one's growth as a teacher, just as there is no knowing beforehand how much your students can learn
My aim as a teacher is to provide a warm, inviting atmosphere for all children to thrive in their learning. I hope to achieve this through bright colourful displays that celebrate the children’s achievements and are used as a daily learning tool; a classroom that upholds clear and high expectations; and finally, an environment where the children can feel safe and have fun in their day to day school life.
Children are rewarded for their effort throughout the school day for their work, behaviour and general attitude towards school and learning. Children receive house points and certificates for their efforts. Stickers are awarded to children for excellent work.
All children set individual targets that they will work on throughout the year. As one is achieved, another is then chosen to work on. These are achieved by children demonstrating their target consistently on five separate occasions. In addition to this children work on agreed whole class targets.
This term we are concentrating on 3 class targets in the core subjects.
English – Presentation and handwriting
Maths – Multiplication tables
Science – Planning and carrying out investigations.
PE days are on a Wednesday andThursday. Kit needs to be in school on these days and should include shorts, tracksuit bottoms, house colour t-shirt and a pair of trainers or daps.
Reading books should be in school every day, even if children have been allocated a specific reading day.
